All ancient books which have once been called sacred by man, will have their lasting place in the history of mankind, and those who possess the courage, the perseverance, and the self-denial of the true miner, and of the true scholar, will find even in the darkest and dustiest shafts what they are seeking for,–real nuggets of thought, and precious jewels of faith and hope.

The Journey

The Temple of DHWTY is here to journey the depths of religion and education. We are exploring this method in 3 phases:

  1. Learning – with the acquisition of knowledge and skills through experience, study, or by being taught.
  2. Evaluation – to make a critical assessment of the value of information learned.
  3. Commitment – to acquire a mature, permanent, and deep commitment for truth and to allow it to become an existential choice of a way of life.

Destiny plays an important role in many religions. It is the belief that there is a predetermined outcome or path for every individual’s life journey, which can be influenced by the choices made. In religious texts, destiny is usually referred to as fate and is seen as being ordained by some higher power. This power may be God, karma, or some other divine force with total control over human life. As such, destiny can be used to explain why certain events happen in life and why people are born into specific circumstances. Those who believe in destiny also believe that individuals can make choices throughout their lives but it will ultimately lead them to whatever predetermined outcome has been destined for them.

Honor is an integral part of religious belief and practice for many faith traditions. It is the recognition of a person’s right to be respected, regardless of whether that person follows ones’ own faith principles or not. The concept of honor often extends to respecting one’s parents, elders, spiritual leaders and teachers. In addition, it includes affirming each individual as valuable in their own right and as worthy of love and compassion. For some religions, honoring ancestors – both known and unknown-is seen as important to reinforcing a sense of belonging and purpose. Ultimately, by grounding itself in respect for all living things and the importance of morality, honor helps foster widespread reverence for life itself.

Wisdom is regarded as an important quality that all people should strive for in order to improve their relationship with the divine. Wisdom is often defined as an understanding of life and how it works; as having knowledge of both spiritual and worldly matters. To be wise, one must have a deep understanding of the self and insight into moral principles; they must have a kind heart, patience, and respect for others despite their differences. Although knowledge can be acquired through books or teachings, true wisdom is something that can truly only come from within when we surrender to our inner truth and allow ourselves the time to reflect, ponder and meditate on higher spiritual matters. Thus, wisdom within religion refers to a spiritual power or awareness which reveals itself when one has achieved inner peace.

Truth is a fundamental element to most religious beliefs. Seeking truth is an arduous journey, often leading one to defy accepted notions and venture into uncharted territory. Answering the questions of what constitutes as truth in religions is complex and depends largely on one’s individual perspective. Truth within a faith can be rooted in its scriptures, internal values, traditions or teachings from spiritual masters — the possibilities are endless. For some, it could be defined as finding a place between reason and faith that leads one to find peace and inner strength; while for others looking through both physical observations and moral teachings is essential in understanding the truths of their religion. Ultimately, uncovering such divine knowledge is part of our greater pursuit towards understanding a Higher Power.

Youth plays a critical role in religion. To young people, the concept of youth can open up the door to a world of exploration and discovery. It is often used as an opportunity to investigate topics about faith and spirituality, to explore their own beliefs and values, and to learn more about their faith through special retreats, group activities, and one-on-one discussions with religious leaders. In short, it gives young adults a chance to form opinions not just through what they have been taught but also through experience and constructive conversations that drive knowledge forward. Ultimately, linking youth with religion can lead them on a journey of understanding how they fit into the larger spiritual picture – something that can bring tremendous meaning and purpose to life.
